What Do You Need Before Filing The FAFSA?

  1. Your FSA Account (see step 1 on previous page) (student and parent)

  2. Social Security Number (student and parent)

  3. Previous year tax records (ex. filing in 2021 need 2020 taxes) unless using the tax data retrieval tool (see step 2 on previous page) (student and parent)

  4. Records of your untaxed income (student and parent)

  5. Records of your assets (money) (student and parent)

  6. List of schools you are interested in attending (even if you haven't applied) (student)

*Colleges have FAFSA deadlines so make sure you are aware of those dates.
